THE CHALLENGE OF COORDINATION
In today’s crypto landscape, creating a blockchain is no longer the primary challenge — syncing them efficiently is. As more networks emerge and liquidity disperses, enabling smooth, secure, and scalable cross-chain collaboration is becoming the top priority. The most critical infrastructure going forward won’t be what powers individual chains, but rather what links them — infrastructure that can provide adaptable security, minimize operational friction, and foster trustless interconnection.
WHY WE BACKED SYMBIOTIC
Symbiotic introduces a flexible, permissionless restaking system that acts as a neutral security layer across decentralized ecosystems. It accommodates a wide variety of chain types — from L1s and L2s to app-specific rollups – and supports customizable economic models and governance rules, without enforcing rigid standards. This framework empowers networks to tailor their coordination and evolve over time as their needs change.
What makes Symbiotic stand out is its principled minimalism. It isn’t trying to be a chain, a competitor, or a policymaker. Instead, it offers modular infrastructure that prioritizes autonomy, neutrality, and scale. This stance has resonated with projects that want robust security without surrendering independence or rebuilding core validator layers from the ground up.

Where some solutions introduce governance complexity or ideological entanglements, Symbiotic keeps its role minimal and its contracts immutable. It offers just enough structure to facilitate cooperation without dictating terms – a distinction that’s already attracting advanced networks and AVS providers in search of scalable decentralization.
MEET THE BUILDERS
Born from the collaboration between Paradigm and Cyber Fund, Symbiotic is spearheaded by Misha Putiatin and a team that pairs technical depth with a realistic understanding of crypto’s evolution. They’ve moved with speed and purpose – deploying core infrastructure, linking up with more than a dozen projects, and earning buy-in from leading modular and Ethereum-aligned ecosystems. Their vision includes developing a “decentralization playbook” to help new networks launch securely and swiftly.
WHAT’S NEXT
We’re proud to invest $4M into Symbiotic to partially help them achieve their goals as a project. As decentralized systems mature and demand coordination without compromise, we see Symbiotic becoming the go-to layer for secure, sovereign collaboration.
